Rocket pioneer Robert Goddard experiments with solar concentrators (1927)
[…] Heights of 10 meters are achieved with a simple solar rocket on October 3, 2007. A further developed model is tested without success in 2010 and 2011.
On August 31, 2011 the rocket is started successfully for the first time. It reaches a height of approximately 300
meters. Though the exact altitude remains written in the stars due to a failure in the rockets control system.
